Our Mission:

Inspire a Reuse Culture

Plastic pollution causes adverse affects to wildlife, their habitats and us humans. We simply cannot go on using single-use plastic.

We are lucky enough to be based by the sea and have so much wildlife thriving around us.

Harmful single-use plastic poses a serious threat to worldwide ocean wildlife with some forms taking up to 1000 years to decompose.

Shocking fact: Around 5000 plastic items can be found per mile of UK coastland. Humanites' obsession with plastic simply needs to stop - this is why we created WiseSip.

Around 8x bigger…

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, located in the Pacific Ocean,  is around 1.6 million square kilometers in size (around 8x the size of the United Kingdom)

The patch is made up of plastic pollution and ocean debris caused almost entirely by humans.

An estimate is around 5 trillion ( that’s enough to circle the earth 4000 times)

Around 12.7million tonnes of plastic enters the ocean each year.

That’s the equivalent to around 2,117 African Bush Elephants.

To reduce plastic pollution we must act to;

Refuse plastic by saying no to unnecessary items like single-use plastics (plastic bags, plastic straws, chewing gum etc.)
Reduce the amount of plastics we consume in our lives,
Reuse products that we already own or source reusable products as alternatives to plastic,
Recycle products to make new ones and avoid un-recyclable materials,
Repurpose products that we already have to avoid buying new ones,
Rethink the way we lead our lives to focus on how our actions can affect others,
Repair items that we already own to avoid throwing them away

To guide our sustainble business decisions we have created Vision & Mission statements that combine the key points listed above.

Become a key brand in the fight against plastic pollution

Sam founded WiseSip in 2019

Sam, Product Designer, Founder

“I’m a design engineer and have loved design for as long as I can remember. I wanted to put my engineering knowledge to good use and tackle a real world problem that seems to be getting worse and worse.

I learnt of the damage that plastic does to the world both in the oceans and to the wildlife and I, feeling quite horrified, immediately wanted to take action to reduce the 8 million pieces of plastic that enter our oceans daily.

To begin on my journey of tackling this plastic problem, I decided to create WiseSip. WiseSip provide information to help people reduce their plastic consumption and also design unique, reusable products made to order here in the UK. These products that are built to last and cause no unnecessary harm. We want everyone to have an alternative option to using harmful plastic”.
